Manassas might not scream “seafood capital,” but this lineup begs to differ. You can bounce from Frye’s Famous Crab Cake CO, where a five-ounce lump crab patty demands respect, to Long Time No Sea, a boisterous spot where the oysters are cheap and the atmosphere feels like a backyard cookout.

I’m still haunted by the Cajun honey hotwings at Voodoo Brothers, sticky, spicy, and worth every napkin. These joints range from a historic 1929 barn to a casual seafood shack, so your only real problem is deciding which craving wins.

Skip the chain restaurants and scroll through—your next great meal is hiding in plain sight.

Awesome experience all around
Friendly and fun service
Best fried shrimp combo
Large, crispy, tasty shrimp
Reasonably priced and satisfying

I walked into Shakin Crab expecting a meal and left feeling like I'd been adopted by a very loud, very happy family. The service is a whirlwind of friendly chaos, the kind where your water glass never gets below half full and someone is always cracking a joke. But the real star is that fried shrimp combo. These aren't wimpy little things. They're large, absurdly crispy, and so satisfying that I considered ordering a second round just to see if they could top themselves. The price is genuinely reasonable, which in this economy felt like finding a twenty in an old coat. It's an awesome experience all around, and I'm still thinking about those shrimp. Honestly, I might go back tonight.

Stellar teamwork and friendly service
Gorgeous historic 1929 barn
Creative bacon clothesline appetizer
Impressive whiskey and old fashioned
Worth it for special nights

The Black Sheep Restaurant is where you go when you want to feel like you've stumbled into a Gatsby party that happens to serve excellent food. The building is a gorgeous historic 1929 barn, and the atmosphere alone is worth the trip. But then there's the bacon clothesline appetizer, which is exactly as delightfully absurd as it sounds, and the whiskey and old fashioned that could make a teetotaler reconsider their life choices. The service is stellar, with this fantastic teamwork where every single person seems to know exactly what you need before you ask. It's a special occasion kind of place, but honestly, I'd use any excuse to go back. Even a Tuesday. Especially a Tuesday.

Amazing food and drinks
Delicious Cajun honey hotwings
Excellent fried chicken sandwich
Great service from Lewis
Highly recommended by patrons

Voodoo Brothers Cajun Creole has cast a spell on me, and I'm not mad about it. The food and drinks are amazing, but the true magic is in those Cajun honey hotwings. They hit this perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and sticky that had me licking my fingers in a way that was frankly unprofessional. The fried chicken sandwich is also excellent, a towering monument to crispy chicken and clever toppings. A big shout-out to Lewis, whose service was great and made the whole experience feel personal. It's highly recommended by patrons for a reason, and I'm adding my enthusiastic voice to that chorus. Bring your appetite and maybe a bib.

Salmon Filet devoured instantly

Service beyond amazing, always
Desserts worth skipping photos for

Bella Vita Italian Restaurant is where I learned the true meaning of sacrifice. We ordered the salmon filet, and it was devoured instantly, so fast that I barely registered its existence beyond a fleeting moment of pure bliss. The service is beyond amazing, always, with a warmth that makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. And then there's Al's legendary homemade tiramisu. I was so entranced, I skipped taking a photo of it. I just ate it. That's the highest compliment I can give. The patio is perfect for celebrations, though I suspect the tiramisu would make even a sad desk lunch feel festive. Desserts worth skipping photos for are a rare breed.

Superb, attentive service
A true local favorite

Arturo's kitchen is a true local favorite, and after one visit, I completely understand why. The Peruvian classics are delicious in a way that feels both exotic and comforting. I had the lomo saltado, and the combination of marinated beef, tomatoes, and fries over rice was a symphony of textures and flavors. The service is superb and attentive, with the staff clearly taking pride in what they serve. It's a smaller, unassuming place, but the food speaks volumes. I felt like I'd been let in on a neighborhood secret, and I wanted to tell everyone about it. This is the kind of place that makes you want to become a regular. I'm already planning my next trip.

Real crab, generous five ounces

Outstanding, welcoming customer service
Worth every penny, no fillers

Frye's Famous Crab Cake CO has ruined all other crab cakes for me, and I'm not even sorry. These things are massive, a full five ounces of real crab meat, with no fillers to be found. They beat any Chesapeake crab cake I've ever had, which is saying something, because I've had a lot of crab cakes. The customer service is outstanding and welcoming, making you feel like you're buying from friends. Worth every penny, absolutely. I took one home and just ate it cold with my fingers, and it was still fantastic. If you love crab, this is your holy grail. I'm already planning a trip back to stock up.

The staff is knowledgeable and can talk you through the different seafood options, from live crabs to shrimp, scallops, and their crab cakes. It's a little overwhelming, but in the best way. I got a couple of mediums and they were perfect, full of sweet, succulent meat. This is the kind of place where you can trust that what you're getting is exactly what was promised. I left with a bag of crabs and a smile.

Crab dip is especially delicious
Oysters taste straight from coast

CJ Finz Raw Bar & Grille is a place where the service truly shines, and thankfully, the food is worth the wait. I ordered the crab dip, and it was especially delicious, creamy, and loaded with actual lump crab meat, not that sad, stringy stuff. The oysters tasted like they had just been plucked from the coast, briny and fresh, a little taste of the ocean in the middle of Virginia. The atmosphere is buzzy and fun, and the staff makes you feel welcome. I went on a busy night, and even with a bit of a wait, the experience was completely positive. I'd happily wait again for those oysters. They were that good.
